Sasha Allen is the sole transgender person who has been through The Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. It has been the case for 21 seasons. They are the Newtown, Conn. duo is now in the Top 8 of the contest! Sasha revealed that he was transgender in their presentation to participate in the Blind Auditions, and he stated to Parade.com that it was a decision that was a matter of thought and reflection. Sasha changed his gender in high school, and admitted that it was difficult to reveal such the vulnerability of his character to so many people. Support from the audience and the impact that this is having on others, regardless of the fact that it was hard to make and was the main reason that made Sasha to make the change beneficial. "We performed it long before The Voice was even a feature in our lives. It was quite a surprise. We had heard of the song and had ideas on how to arrange it. "I was surprised by how the crowds nailed the song."
