Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his signature style. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe, as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician, playing and singing at the local church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music in Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan and was later remixed by a variety of producers and has become a staple of her live set. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in the stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral for the stage production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to sing as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
